The Importance of Connecting with the Community

Today, the TK and Kindergarten classes walked to the local fire station on a field trip! The students of Alma Fuerte learned when to call 911, how to use "stop, drop, and roll," got a tour of the fire station, and used the fire hose. They also got to see the firemen putting on their uniforms and how the alarm works. The students were all very engaged with questions and excited to see how firefighters work!

It is important to involve the local businesses to teach children about their community and introduce people to the school children. The more bodies involved in a child's education, the more successful he or she should be :)
